简介: | We develop a multi-country-multi-sector general equilibrium model with trade, globally mobile entrepreneurs, external economies of scale in production, and public goods to quantify the impacts of trade and industrial policy competitions across major economies. To solve highdimensional Nash policies, we propose a deep learning framework, DL-opt, that integrates automatic implicit differentiation (AID) for gradient descent and best-response dynamics (BRD) for Nash equilibria. Calibrating our model to 7 economies and 44 sectors in 2017, we find that tariff wars disrupt international trade and shrink production scales in sectors with strong scale economies, while industrial policy competitions result in excessive industrial subsidies and reduced public good provision, both causing sizable global welfare losses. |
